Jackie Zabielski is a journalism major at Stony Brook University with a concentration in broadcast. Currently she is the host of the Cablevision Local Programming Preview and is also the lead reporter for Cablevision's Neighborhood Journal, both Long Island feature shows. Throughout her time at Stony Brook, Jackie has worked with the campus television station, SBU-TV as a reporter and anchor. She is also involved in the School of Journalism as an active member of the Student Advisory Board and serves as a Teaching Assistant for the advanced broadcasting classes. Jackie has also held internships with News 12 Long Island and NBC Local Media.
This site is a result of an entire semester's worth of reporting in the Village of Port Jefferson with a focus on the Port Jefferson courts. The assignment for the capstone class of the journalism program was to find a story in Port Jefferson and tell it on three platforms; broadcast, print and online.
